HYPOSO (Hydro Power Solutions for developing and emerging countries) is a three-year program funded by the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency of the European Commission, under Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Framework. It is geared towards supporting market uptake of hydro power investments and exports from the European countries, within developing and emerging countries. Currently it has five target countries, namely: Bolivia, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador and Uganda.
Organisations from these five target countries, together with others from Europe, add up to 13 organisations, which in turn constitute the HYPOSO consortium.
Hydro Power Association of Uganda (HPAU) Ltd. is the implementing partner of the project in Uganda; while WIP Renewable Energies based in Munich, Germany, is the overall consortium coordinator.
This project has a humble budget of Euro 138,000 and is slated to end in May 2023.
